I was invited to be a part of one of my Ft. Myers home church's missions conference. McGregor Baptist Church is my parent's home church (it was my home church when I was in high school when we first returned to the states from Haiti) and they are very involved with RMI. This past year they became a C3 Partner church and sent their first official team to their Sister Church in Cote de Fer, Haiti. They also now support 123 children in RMI's child sponsorship program, Hope for Kidz. That's a lot of kids who are now able to go to school because of being sponsored! They're also supporting me! It was at their missions conference when I was in high school, in 2008, I made a public commitment to serve the Lord as a missionary. During this weekend's conference I was recognized as being the 50th person to be sent out from the church to the mission field. How cool is that?!
We had meals with the church leadership and the Legacy group (55+), as well as meetings with Sunday morning Life Group classes, all 3 church services and the Sunday evening service. It was fun sharing my passion and ministry with people as they went by RMI's booth. It was a bit tiring, but, wow, it was great to be with the church during their conference. I even got to chat with a couple of people that were my youth Bible study leaders from my high school years.
